RWS branded TX200

Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:16 am

Went down south to a FT match Saturday and one of the regulars asked me to look over his TX. It's a MarkII in the #9,000 serial range, but it's marked RWS instead of Air Arms. I see them now and then and all are MarkII's. This gun was fairly accurate and seemed pretty normal for a FAC TX200 MarkII. These have a different piston to a normal MarkI or MarkII . It has 5 mm less stroke than the MarkIII where a standard MarkII has 15 mm less stroke than the MarkIII. Easy to make loads of power above your 12 ft. lb. limit. The owner is around 80 and asked me to take the gun for a once over. He will pick it up whenever. The piston seal was rotten and crumbling, the comp. tube nut was unscrewed a bit and loose, plus the trigger had a click in the first stage. It still grouped and felt good even in this state. I fixed the problems and found a little divot in the sear where the first stage screw touches. The comp. tube has the tightest bore I've ever seen, but I sized down a seal to fit. It's putting pellet after pellet in a nice little cluster at 27 yards. Darkness forced me to take a break, but I will try out to 55 yards tomorrow. I won't worry about a chrono, but it feels like around 850 with Exacts. Did I mention it's also walnut? Hope the old fellow decides to let it go on the cheap. It never fails, near strangers hand me their TX's to service and they have all been brilliant. I was the only springer shooter at the match and at 10 ft. lbs., but I managed 3rd against some $5,000 pcp rigs.

Where abouts is the RWS. Is it a sticker or Etched in place of where the normal AIr Arms is.

It’s amazing what can be done when your in tune with a springer.

For sure a TX200. I only have 8 and have seen a few RWS TX200's. Even seen one in SR form, but again, all MarkII guns. Where the Air Arms normally is, there is RWS stamped and in the same font as TX200. Air Arms is not on these guns at all. Makes the 3rd one I've shot and all are normal Air Arms as far as the great accuracy. The bluing on the few I have seen seems just a bit thinner, but still good. I guess you fellows never had these available. RWS is the company that sold all the Diana guns over here. They never had Diana on them, but RWS instead.

That's me and, no, we didn't shoot the old guy(my father-in-law). The camera played tricks with the eye on that one. He was actually about a 1/4 of a mile away and to our left a good bit.

Hi guys. I have a ProTarget branded RWS CA100. It was 10mtr rifle, but has been converted to 12lbs. I have been told that my gun was for sale in Canada. dave
