S510 adjustment

Sat Jul 25, 2020 4:34 pm

Hi, new to the forum and PCP, just bought a S510 carbine which is producing around 10 ft/llb
Is there any easy way to adjust this to about 11-11.5 or do I have to get AA to do it.

Thanks

Is the 10ftlb from a fill of 190bar?
If so , try it at about 165/170 bar, it should be doing more by then
Power goes up as the air pressure goes down, I know that might sound wrong to you,
Buts that's how they are, it's to do with the hammer strike on the firing valve, less pressure in cylinder,
Easier for hammer to open valve, and ftlb goes up, hope that helps. Rog

Dis you buy new or used? If new, you should be able to get it adjusted at one of the Air Arms Service Centres rather than send it back to the factory but you would need to phone Air Arms first. If it's used and out of warranty there are possible reasons for a loss of power that might need to be investigated; the more common ones are a leaking breech seal or extruded firing valve.

You might find cleaning and polishing the hammer rail does the trick. If the anti-tampers have been removed adjustment is not difficult but that won't remedy the cause. Sounds like it just needs a service.
