TX200 safety stuck on

Sat Apr 18, 2020 6:48 pm

Hiya, i have a TX200 that's not been used for maybe 5 years and now, having cocked and loaded it, the safety button won't push across. Is it just a case of soaking the mechanism in wd40 or similar please or do i need to take the trigger apart. Ta

I would pull back on the cocking arm, as if trying to set the safety, and then see if I could get the button to push over. If this worked, then I'd take it apart and clean and re oil the trigger unit. It's also possible the safety button has snapped. Either way you don't want to open the gun with the spring compressed. If you can't get it to fire, remove the action from the stock and see if you can see anything obvious. Again, don't remove the end plug with the mainspring compressed, unless you have a compressor and are very careful and experienced because that spring will fly out and damage whatever is in it's way.
