S410 classic leaking on filling valve!

Wed Feb 12, 2020 6:02 pm

My s410 just started leaking air from the barrel while filling...done the usual google search & was advised to change seal inside filling valve...I done this & all was fine until second fill & now leaking air from filling valve...new filling valve maybe?
Any advice would be appreciated

If it's leaking from the barrel the only way air can reach the barrel is via the firing valve so that might not be seating properly. How low is the pressure before you start to fill? And is it leaking at low pressure but holding when the cylinder is full (190 bar)?
In case you don't know, if the cylinder is empty, and you try to fill with the gun uncocked, the striker holds the firing valve open and it will pass air.
If air is now leaking from the filling valve it could be contamination in the valve. Is it leaking after you disconnect the whip? Or are you referring to leaking from the connector as you fill?

Think the reason it was leaking through barrel is I was trying to fill while cylinder was empty.
The air is completely emptying over night & I can hear it escaping from somewhere near filling valve after I have refilled & removed whip.
I have taken filling valve apart & replaced internal seal & cleaned inside....:but still leaking?
Anything else I can try?

When you changed the S327 seal, did you also change the S484 this is the one that sits below the S472 male connector, this seal is quite often overlooked when looking for a leak. Rog
