What is optimal FPS for the hft500 using Jsb exact 8.4. it's currently at 11.45 ftlbs with jsb heavies.

I get the best grouping (and total peace of mind legally speaking) with Exacts around 11.2 - 11.3 ft.lb ie the low to mid 770's fps. My groups certainly open up above about 780 fps. This seems to apply to all my AA guns, and to my Steyr. With a bit of luck, given the ME with Heavies, that will be pretty much what it is running at now.

I don't have a Hft500, but same as above for my Ultimate Sporter, which gives 11.6-11.7 ft lb with JSBH (as high as I'd want to go), so I'd guess you'll be getting around 11 with 8.44gr.

I don't have a Hft500 but find with the 400 and 500 series rifles an increase of just over 3ftlbs from JSB 8.44gr to JSB 10.34gr.

I have tried this many times and the results are consistent. I'm sure you will be within the legal limit with the power you have set at this time.

0.3 surely?
0.4 on mine, maybe 0.5 on the longer barrelled S400 Classic.

Oops a typo. Lol. I did intend putting in a point.

Yes just over .3ft/lbs.

Tonyc. Thinking about it I don't think I tried the 2 weights of pellets on a classic so perhaps slightly higher as you say.

Well done to the sharp eyed members who spotted that.
