Breech seals

Sun Dec 22, 2019 10:43 pm

Breech seals for S400/410/510 there are two sizes in .22
S536 BS008
S538 BS009
Anyone got any idea of the best size to use, to be honest I've only just realised that there are two sizes

Hi Rog
I replaced mine with S538 BSOO9, and never had any problems afterwards. However I was not aware there are 2 sizes.
What do you think the point of that would be.

Could be when they changed the breech seal carrier from 2 piece to one, not sure of when that happened
Last time I changed one in an S510 I used the rather expensive uprated version, that worked ok
Might do that again. Rog

Do you know if there Is any difference in the 2? ie. size- diameter or even material of construction.
I would assume they both do the task required.

BS008-4.47mm inside diameter
1.78mm cross section
8.03mm outside diameter
BS009-5.28mm inside diameter
1.78mm cross section
8.84mm outside diameter
I understand now, sorted 👍

Is the size difference because of pellet size?

Probably more to do with outside diameter i.e. Fit in the breech than anything to do with pellet size

just to clarify fellas S536 is for the older .177 seal carrier (the 2 piece brass one ) and S538 is for the .22 seal carrier (the 2 piece brass one ).

if on the other hand you have the one piece seal carrier you will need FP121 for a .177 and FP122 for a .22 .

if you have any questions please give me a ring Friday or in the new year :) :) :)
