Shortening the first stage of trigger

I have watched Pete's video several times on how to return a trigger to factory settings. After setting the first stage Pete advises leaving it alone. How do you make the first stage shorter. I have a S510 in .22 its first stage is a little bit long for my liking. I have followed the video and reset the trigger as shown to see if it makes any difference to the travel on the first stage. It has made no difference to its length of pull. How can I shorten it.

Depend on what trigger chassis you have, the later ones have a screw that is used to take up some of the first stage, but the older ones don't have this facility, apart from getting a later chassis, you might just have to live with it unfortunately

I agree with Rog, and I also wouldn't recommend shortening what is a safety feature. You know you can back off from a shot and release stage 1, and be sure that the sears go back to where they started. You're also not going to bump off a shot.

But if you really want to with the old chassis, and you are not bothered about the trigger continuing on way past the firing point, (I hate that!) you can simply repeat the procedure with a temporary spacer between the trigger blade and the trigger body (or in place of the trigger spring if fitted) and both stages will be set to fire at approximately that point.
Engineers could maybe tap a backstop screw in the trigger blade where the spacer would go - depends on which trigger.
Same rule applies, make final tweaks on Stage 2 only.

Good Afternoon

Thanks again for the feedback.

The rifle is only 2 years old. I assume that being this age it is the latest / newest version unless of course they have changed it.

As it's only 2 years old it should have latest chassis, you need to remove the TX381 trigger weight screw, then remove the spring, you can then with an Alan key turn the RN191 in to adjust to where you want it

You want the other “inside trigger” video

Right thanks again. Could I ask is it in to shorten it and out to lengthen it.

Absolutely_correct,_on_the_latest_trigger,_it_is_possible_to_remove_the_weight_of_pull_spring_assmbly_and_wind_the_stop_out_to_reduce_the_first_stage.__It_did_occur_to_me_that_the_earlier_type_could_be_adjusted_b_drifting_out_the_stop_pin_and_refitting_with_a_sleeve_over_it.

P.S._Should_fix_the_space_bar_on_my_keyboard_first!
