S510 Barrel shroud

Thu Apr 11, 2019 4:21 am

Hi all! I am doing a small project for a friend, fitting an S510 carbine into a bullpup stock. To do this I need to remove the shroud so the barrel will fit through the scope mount brackets. Unfortunately there isn't enough meat on these brackets to make the hole bigger. So I plan to cut the shroud to meet the first bracket, but retain the baffles and normal setup at the muzzle. What I wanted to know, is if the threaded mount that the shroud screws into on the breech block can be removed? this is so I can use it to support the shroud further up the barrel?

The stock is custom made by another guy here, and not a kit and was originally made for an S400 without the shroud. So just after some advice there so I don't go forcing anything off.

Thanks
Paul.

I would say no as its part of the bolt housing. Rog
