S400 help

Thu Mar 07, 2019 10:02 pm

Hi, I stripped my 2005 model S400 down to give it a full service and clean, fit new seals etc etc..

When I came to replace the spring that fits over the hammer (and into the trigger block) I found the new part is a smaller internal diameter than the old one, it won't fit over the hammer and the little top hat piece at the other end doesn't fit inside it ? It seems to be the same length though.

Looking at the parts list is this what's called the "hammer spring" or the "firing valve spring" ?? The part stated that it's supposed to fit S400/S410 and others.

Are there different diameter springs, or do I have the wrong part ?

Thanks

Mat

Where did you order from? Hammer spring is S331 and firing valve spring is S306 sounds like you've been sent wrong parts maybe

It sounds like they have sent you a firing valve spring, in wrong bag maybe? And who is the seller?

I contacted them and they said I've ordered the hammer spring for the FAC version of the gun, and mine is not an FAC rifle it's a sub 12 ft/lbs one... In the ad I just saw S400 Hammer spring, didn't realise that they were different... oops.

Quite surprised they sent you an FAC part, shouldn't they have asked for a copy/photo of your FAC certificate?

Springs, screws washers all non specific parts so is a ticket really needed? Ebay sell FAC springs. The hammer itself would be a different matter I would think.
Darned good job the spring didn’t fit or it could have gone over 12, but I thought they were interchangeable, no?
FAC part would be S331H or HG I believe so If you ordered S331 it’s their bad work.
