A question for AA gurus. Can anyone help age relate the rifle given in the subject line from the stamped serial / id number? Or do will I have to communicate with AA?

Best phone AA.
It has been suggested but not proved that the first two digits might be the year of manufacture of the receiver body though not necessarily the year of dispatch of the finished rifle. Those that reported back showed serial number startdigits one or two years earlier than retail date.

Hello sir. I trust you are well? I have contacted AA and they replied nigh on straight away with answers to my questions. All sorted.
Thank you for your reply.

Hello - great.
Did their answer correlate with our theory regarding year of manufacture and serial number prefix?

If the first two digits are as you believe then it is one year difference between serial and year of manufacture. If I could work the PM on the mobile version of this forum I'd gladly forward the details.

I don’t think its a security issue to give us the first 2 digits of your serial and the year they gave you, but it’s fine if you don’t.

Mine is 14 and I bought it in 2016 and the original cylinder is marked 06/2016
The MPR Precision is not a volume seller so a 2 year gap between manufacturing the receiver and lasering the cylinder date on dispatch is not surprising.
