S200 power fluctuations help

Thu Nov 22, 2018 6:25 pm

I have read a few discussions about setting up a s200 with a regulator and have tried most of the suggestions.
I have a mk1 and have fitted an external Huma regulator. Also fitted a new hammer spring.
Winding the venturi screw out and the hammer spring in doesn't alter the ft lbs much.
I have tried the regulator at 93 (as it comes)and a bit higher, up to 100. The transfer port valve I have tried screwed all in then backed out 1 1/2 turns, 3 turns, 10mm depth and 6.5mm depth.
At one point it registered 13.1 ft lbs 3 shots in a row, then dropped to 8.4 ft lbs without me making any changes for the next 8 shots.

Suggestions?

I have a spare unregulated cylinder that hasn't had anything done to it, that is around 7.5 to 8 ft lbs.

I have ordered a seal kit.

Ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I recently had much the same kind of problem with one of my S 200's. Having checked all the usual suspects ,I found the firing valve end of the cylinger threads were worn so the air cylinder was not tight allowing the firing pin to "light" strike . I replaced the whole valve unit (10 + years old ) and problem solved.
If you have a quick fill unit on the cylinder it may be possible to fix the wobble using plumbers Teflon tape on the threads just to check that is your problem .
