Ultimate Sporter

Sat May 12, 2018 2:03 pm

I have just had my Ultimate Sporter fitted with a Lane Regulator. It still only fires 70 shots, the same as before regulator. It is very inconstant but this could be down to pellet selection. Hovever it will not hit a target at 50 yards, so not much good as a target rifle. Not getting much response from person that fitted it. Any advice appreciated.

What's the regulator pressure, i.e. What does the gauge say, and I take it that's it .177, and 70 doesn't sound that bad to me, I fitted an Altaros to mine and get about 50 before it drops off the reg, but very consistent AADF 4.52 done it for me, and 50yds was no problem .Rog

Filling to 200 bar, I think reg is set to 70.

Sorry, forgot to mention it is .177 Not worried about number of shots so much as not hitting 50 yards.

My one was set to about 120bar, doubt if 70bar is enough, I would turn it up a bit, have you access to a chrono. Rog

I just sold mine, which had been fitted with a lane reg by Phil from RatWorks : reg was set to 85 bar and would do 100 shots from a 200-210 ish fill before getting sub 100 bar . With Air Arms Field Diabolo 4.52 my last chrono test was

Average FPE - 10.80
Max FPE - 10.9
Min FPE - 10.72
Std Dev - 0.05910

Altaros recommended me to only fill to A/A fill pressure i.e. 190bar, which is the reason I only get about 50 shots, I never tried to fill to a higher pressure, but for me 50 was enough, all about 773/775fps. Rog

I can borrow a chrono from my club. I am away next week but could get it on my return. I have taken a look at the Lane website, it doesn't look too hard to adjust. any advice about doing it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the replies so far.

I would make sure you use the exact pellet weight when calculating the ft lbs from the ft per sec.
As seen above 10.5 to 11 ft lbs is plenty for target use.
