Crosman Challenger Leak

Mon Apr 23, 2018 4:41 pm

I have a new Challenger Air Rifle that has a leak from the air gauge.
Tried using plumber tape, but pressure blew out the tape.
What can I use to seal the gauge from leaking air?

The parts diagram for the CH2009 shows no seal. More importantly the gauge screws through the curved side of the pressure cylinder.
I doubt if any seal other than Loctite will seal it.
Pray you dont have plumber tape inside the cylinder.

looking at the reply to your post on TargetTalk it could be the seals either end of the gauge port block that sits inside the cylinder.
It isnt obvious from the manual exploded drawing that item 5 gauge port sits half way down the cylinder.

easier to post a link than post a photo.

PS these Challengers are made down to a price to qualify for the US junior sporter class price limit and sometimes it shows.
