Hi all I have a AA S400 a on going project, I've received a mountain of good advice from this forum so I am asking again a qustion
I took off the Barrel when I stripped her down being a old gun different people have stripped her down hense alot of indentations where the grub fixing screw goes in fact they are all round so is there any way I can tell where the factory would have fixed the barrel when she was new or doesn't it matter very much which possision it's set at ?? If not what do i need to do sort of 5 pellet groups and keep turning the barrel till i get best group The rifle is circular 2006 thanks from Frank

Look up hole in bolt housing, whilst turning barrel, you will then see it align. Rog

You have to take bolt housing off and look from underneath, look up transfer port and line up hole in barrel. Rog

Are you referring to the S200 as my barrel butts up to a brass collar which as the air port in it the brass collar there is no air port hole in my barrel to line up only hole in the barrel is one that except pellet and the crown were the pellet leaves barrel two in total

Am with you now, I would just keep turning barrel until it looks strait and lines up with centre of cylinder, about the best you can do really, apart from that you could centralise the turrets on your scope ie count the clicks and set to middle settings and shoot it turning barrel until it hits your zero, that sounds a bit long winded but easy really. Thanks for your help yes long winded it will be I had a feeling it would be .I was wondering how guys who need a new barrel would get on as there would be know grub screw indentations to go by when fitting a new one I wish Air Arms would have marked them with a punch or something o well happy days

Thanks Pete not what I realy want as the gig only lines up after a knock on the barrel he takes the barrel clamp off then realines the barrel to the clamp
My problem is I've taken the barrel completely off the rifle and have found no reference point to put the barrel back in to the breach like when it came from the factory
Still not all doom I have air arms telephone number they are always happy to help
Or I can do the 5 shot group while twisting the barrel and get the best group I can and this time I'll mark it with my own punch
Finally if all else fails send it back to air arms get them to service it and do a accrancy test on her thanks for the help Pete ATB Frank
