Older cylinder info

My older s400 has the snap on style fill adapter & i wondered if its possible to replace with the modern quick fill T-bar type? The gun is fitted with a robert lane reg too so would this be a problem if i could replace the end adapter? Thanks

Will having a regulator fitted not make a difference when having to empty the cylinder? Someone told me not to let the cylinder get completely empty after a reg has been fitted. Whether there's any truth in this i don't know.
