Had a strange issue with my new S510 (2 weeks old). Today at the club range was plinking away, probably onto the 8th or so magazine when the gun simply stopped discharging. After realisation of what was going on hit me, I removed the magazine as I reckoned I had at least 2 if possibly 3 pellets in the barrel.
The gun cocked normally, Cylinder pressure was 100bar, safety was off, trigger moved fully still, I have not readjusted trigger settings from factory settings.
Although bought from The Airgun Centre I took it to the RFD I had collected it from over in Wokingham (on collection I had had a good long chat with the guy who was bemoaning that I had not bought from him as he also could get AA, so I reakoned he was my nearest dealer) My immediate thoughts was get the pellets safely removed as if I did have to ship it back to either the Airgun Centre or AA I would be a lot happier if a charged and loaded weapon was not "posted". The RFD cleared the barrel out so its now safe and the offered to have a look at it to see if he could spot anything amiss ..
Any thoughts as to what's a miss (no pun intended)

Sounds like the sears but why a new rifle would bust a sear is beyond me

As above. If you open the trigger side plate you would have seen it.

Re: S510 Wont "fire"
Hammer hadn't fully locked onto the trigger sear, the magazine will cycle and the probe will push home hence the double/trebble loading.
Did you get so engrossed that you were loading quicker? My S410 did it because I was only grabbing the bolt handle on one side, not evenly across its width. I had to look at the trigger to ensure it had 'clicked'.

Hi,
I believe it is a trigger problem as I have seen/read this question from a few people on various forums. I guess they may have some dodgy ones about. Might be worth a phone call to Air Arms. It's a doddle to fit a new one.

Called AirArms spoke to a really helpful chappy who took details of the RFD the rifle is at etc and then called me back 5 mins later saying he was shipping parts direct to RFD and had explained fully what was wrong and what was required to fix

Turned out the S320-2 TOP SEAR had snapped in half.. As Mark suggested seems a batch problem as based upon my 30 second description of the problem AA sent that exact and only part to the RFD who fitted it for me

Good news that it didn't need to go back. I have heard a couple go lately, so it does sound like a bad batch.

Looking at the tin of pellets I reckoned I had done approx 400 shots thru it .. plus the 100 airguncentre claim they do ,, tomorrow is club afternoon for the "retired members" which equals "sneak away from work as I work for a California based company" for me to grab a extended lunch break at the range so will have some fun with it
