S200 power
S200 power
My S200 MK3 is giving me 10.39flbs max using AA Diablo Fields .177 8.4Grn. Was wondering if replacing the hammer spring would increase this figure to 11 plus. I have had the rifle for a year or so and have replaced all the seals but thought maybe the hammer spring might have lost some strength over the years as it is six years old. It shoot fine and is very accurate during my HFT rounds but am just starting to think about starting to hunt with it so would feel happier with a little more power.

If it's a mk3 then it probably has Anti tamper?
If it does then you will need to get that off before you can change the hammer Spring anyway.
If it dosent, then you can either use the little Venturi screw on the right hand side, unscrew this 1/4-1/2 a turn. (Note there may be a cover screw on top and a grub screw underneath.
Or take the stock off and there is a slotted "screw" at the back trust under the bolt handle, screw this in 1/4-1/2 a turn and that should do it
Make sure you check it over the chrono just to be sure tho.

or just leave it alone, you`ve got plenty of power for sensible range hunting, too many forget, accuracy can be more important than outright power
Re: S200 power
If it shoots well and is accurate leave it alone

Sound advice, my R10 has never achieved much over 10.2 but it's not had many complaints from "clients" out to 40+ yards

Sound advice from eboswan. Why do you want to up the power. What do you think 1f/b will give you. Honestly you dont need to, this is quite adequate for hunting. A lot of guns shoot at around 10fps without any problems.

Thanks Gents for the info. It seems I will leave well alone and enjoy this fantastic rifle as it is.
