To pining or not to pining

So I've got a couple of questions :?:
1 To ping or not to ping ?
I've seen a few bits and pieces about it on here and on YouTube, is it worth doing ? Does it make much difference noise wise ?
It would be on an S410F carbine in .22 that's fitted with the AirArms Q-Tec silencer.

2 My trigger is set at factory default and I feel I'm perhaps pulling shots off target a little. Is it worth softening it a little ? I don't know how to do it and I don't want to muck it up and make it dangerous :o
I seem to remember that the trigger on the Mk2 TX200 I had was really soft and surprised me the first couple of times I used it :o

That would be down to you really, it'll be you that hears it (or not).
To my ears, my S410f pinged a lot but only after I'd read about it and watched some youtube vids about it.
Now, several months and many 1000s of pellets later, I don't notice it.

You will gain a lot by polishing the sears. If after polishing the sears you can set the trigger as you will be able to see what your adjusting.

Thanks I'll dig the manual out and have a look for them as I've no idea what they are :lol:

If you remove the cover off the side of the trigger unit (you will need a fine blade to prise the cover off as its milled to shape) you will see all of the parts in situ. You can then polish wherever they touch. Use toothpaste for the final finish. Do not alter the shape of any of the surfaces. Also with the cover off, you can adjust the set screws to see what they do.

good polish of the shears well woth it you my not need too adjust the pull.
