OK thanks Rog.
Also I now see that there are two types of breach seal ? I have a bag with S536 seals, which I read are for the older guns (mine is 2005) and they changed to FP121 for the later guns ? I may have fited the wrong one last time, but as I have the S536 I'll try that.
I found it easier to just fit the seal with the barrel out of the block, then just press the barrel back to clamp the seal rather than trying to fit it through the loading port with the barrel already fitted. I'm hoping that achieves the same outcome ?
Thx

S400 problem
Re: S400 problem
With you on that S536 , but you should be fitting it into the brass carrier, not compressing with the barrel !
Re: S400 problem
OK all fixed and back to full working order.
Re the breach seal, when you fit the barrel into the block, you get the gap between the end of the brass loading port and the end of the barrel brass ferrule, that's where the breach seal fits. If you remove the barrel you can hook the seal out from the front. I just fited the new seal in from that side, pushed it gently home square with a long M6 screw, so it was up against the loading port, and then fitted the barrel back into the block, not squashing the seal as such, but the barrel end just touches against it when fully home. Seems to be perfect.
I had some new spare TP seals, I found them in a bag..
Cleaned & re-built everything and the pellets now load correctly every time, and the air leak when firing has stopped.
Put 50-60 shots through it to re-zero the scope, back to 5p size groupings at 25 yards, which is as good as it's ever been.
Happy
