After a new barrel
After a new barrel
Very stupidly I dropped the dive cylinder onto my s410 in the back of the car. (don't ask!!!) AA fitted a new barrel as the old one was bent. My problem now is accuracy, where as before it was spot on, now its erratic. Since the new barrel I've put through about 2000 pellets as a running in period but it hasn't improved. Any suggestions or advice would be gratefully received.

Hello
You can try this, loosen the figure eight barrel band let the barrel centre its self re tighten and re zero.

Re: After a new barrel
That's the first thing to try, what's it actually doing i.e. Shot gunning, but to be honest, sounds like a trip back to the
AirArms factory to me, let them sort it. Rog
Re: After a new barrel
Thanks for that, I suspected that would be the case, will try loosening the figure of 8 bracket first though. I kept thinking it was down to me, but I didn't know if it would be 15mm high or low at 25 yds each time.
Re: After a new barrel
You don't say how much spread. If this is consistently very bad, and nothing obvious is loose and pellets not clipping the silencer, send it back to AA. If it's just odd fliers or consistent groups but just a bit larger than previously, have you tried different pellets?
Re: After a new barrel
A bent barrel will affect where the group lands, but shouldn't affect the size of the group itself, unless the barrel is so bent it is virtually kinked. The most likely problem is clipping the moderator, but if not, like several others have said, it's back to AA or a trusted fettler as something internal has been bent, broken or moved and a new barrel on its own is not likely to fix it.
Good luck

Thanks all, it looks like a trip to Hailsham, they seem very helpful.
