I have or rather had the money and so bought (on order) a Galahad, I know some hate it and some love it.
Being pretty new to the sport I am wondering which scope to buy. I do not want to stint and want some quality - budget wise I was thinking 170 to 200ish. I shoot targets mainly due to a poor back. I know there are so many scopes out there that it does become subjective but i would be interested what you personally would suggest.
Thanks for your time

Congratulations Jon i hope you have lots of fun with it.
I have only briefly shot one and that was before the final modifications. It might be a good idea to look at some pictures of other peoples set up.
Once you know the size of the clearances needed ,then you can narrow it down a bit.
But as you know, it is also what your eyeball like and only by trying a few will you know.

Hi Jon
Enjoy you new toy
Take a look at the Hawke scopes. They are not everybody's choice, but for the price you get a very good scope with good glass and are easy to use.
It's just as important to get the right mounts for your scope as well.

In your price range I'd go for Nikko Sterling, but it depends what reticle you want. My Hawke scopes have been ousted in favour of Nikko sterling Panamax with HMD reticle.Outandabout wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:20 pmTake a look at the Hawke scopes. As Tony above has said in that range I would say Nikko would take some beating. I installed one on a mates s410 and was impressed by the quality and image.
You pays your money and takes your choice.
