Thinking of fabricating an alloy stock for my 10 metre MPR
One difficult part to make due to lack of machinery is the front barrel support which is particular to the 10m stock. Buying a spare to file down would double the project cost and I want to make the whole thing for 30 or 40 quid!
Is it the general opinion that the 14mm barrel can float unsupported? I'm just a bit worried about dropping it even in a gun bag.

Re: Floating barrels
Hi Peter, all I can say is give it a go, I've floated S400/410 barrels with no problems just opening up the bands, I would think a 14mm barrel could take care of itself, just don't walk into anything. Rog

Re: Floating barrels
Thanks. Yes its a chunky old barrel. I was more concerned about tearing off the bolt housing but that would be a big drop!
I'll leave room for a support I guess. Could always make a plywood one and paint it up if necessary.
