Rail polish
I’m going to polish the rail on my s410...after polishing should it be run dry or is a little oil needed...should the inside of the hammer be cleaned too?

I always leave it dry, and just pull clean rag through the hammer. Rog

Agreed. Any liquid oil on the hammer rail, particularly silicone, will slow down the hammer dramatically. Hammer rails should be dry.
The science - frictional (dry) drag between two surfaces is independent of velocity. Viscous (oily) drag is proportional to the square of velocity. So a viscous oil will limit to a terminal velocity quickly, in this case before it hits the valve. Useful for slow close toilet seats but not hammer rails.
I still have the American suspension of Molybdenum disulphide powder in spirit called Dri-Slide from last century but its almost unobtainable in that form now.

Some leave it dry with no oil and some use GT40 type lube that isn’t sticky and is wiped on then buffed off. GT40 is used on bike chains that doesn’t want to attract dirt

ive just done my cousins hammer rail just waiting for seals coming. I’ve got a 2010 tdr that I would like to do but it’s fitted with anti tamper so I can’t access it

I'm surprised nobody said "..oh yes you can..."
but there's plenty of anti tamper removal videos on Youtube for S400 S410 etc. You dont have to remove the power regulation antitamper as far as I know so you can keep "legal" but there hangs another controversy if you polish the rail so well that the power gets too hot. Make sure to have access to a chrono.
