On the GTA Forum there is a shooter with a new TX200 with some streaks that may be rust in the breech.
I suspect they are burnt oil/grease from a sloppy build.
What do you think?
Thanks

Shipping grease? Tried a patch pull thru like you're supposed to with a new gun?
Re: Deposits in the New TX200 Barrel
its grease from when it was well made at the factory ready for it to sit on a dealers shelf for a week to 18 months .
a good pull through , a wipe over and 50 - 100 pellets through it to lead the barrel will have it ready to shoot .

Exackerly. Try SMK for sloppy builds!

Guys,
I'm the shooter from the other forum. A few weeks ago I purchased this rifle new from a big shop. I love the gun and it shoots very well. But a few day ago I noticed some brown stuff inside the barrel.
I took this picture after rubbing the barrel with a brass brush/solvent and running a q-tip. To me this look likes pitting.

Re: Deposits in the New TX200 Barrel
I had been reading the thread on the other forum sience it got started.
Frankly I did not know what to think about this matter but after all the efforts of removing the "stain" and finally seeing the HQ-picture there and now here I think its clearly some kind of pitting / damage to the steel (rifling) may be caused by some failure in production process.
IMHO even if this metallurgic problem should be limited to the first section of the barrel (I dont realy think so) its simply unacceptable - especially at a new gun. No matter how its shooting.

how does it shoot ? if you're getting good groups then whats the problem , if not and you're not happy with the gun take it back .
using a brass brush and solvent on it wont have don't it any good at all , leave those for your centre fire rifles and shotguns .
