So after getting my trusty ruler out looks like and extra 100mm would interfer with silencer

Sounds like a good excuse to get a carbine then! Actually what do I mean by excuse .... read 'valid reason'.

What if I changed the barrel to a longer one to take the cylinder or am I playing with fire what type of effects would I see from a slight longer barrel

.... then you would have the newer version of a TDR. It may be a tight squeeze in your bag though. You would need to find a longer cylinder TDR to see if it fits in your case. If it does then fit a carbine barrel. This should be simple as you old type TDR shouldn't have Anti-tamper (AT) fitted. You will need to chrono it and may have to adjust power possibly afterwards to keep it legal.
