The priest and the pig.

Late one winters evening a priest was driving home along a country lane when a pig ran out in front of his car, unable to stop or avoid the beast he struck it.
Getting out his car he found the pig stone dead. Being a man of conscience he looked around for a farm but found none so decided to report the incident to the nearest police office.
After a lengthy diversion he eventually found a small police station. He started to tell the less than courteous desk officer his tale but got the impression he wasn't interested and this was confirmed when at the end the officer said sarcastically "and pray tell me father what do you expect me to do about it" to which the quick witted priest replied "Nothing my son ,I just thought I'd let his next of Kin know of his passing"
