went to a restaurant last night, and the owner said ''we're a bit busy at the moment sir, do you mind waiting'' ?
i said ''no, of course not''
he said ''good, take this burger & chips to table 7 then''

This happened with me for real ! Back in India when I was about 19. It was friendly restaurant owner. I turned up for dinner, saw him struggling with a staff shortage, rolled my sleeves up and started helping. Before long, it became 'normal' for me to do waiting, chop veg in the kitchen, take a customer's order, manning the till etc. Just for a laugh ... while my own meal was being sorted. :)
