Re: Single shot
It may not be relevant, but the Rowan magazine includes a shim that is meant to be glued into the loading channel so that it is level with the bottom of the breech. This is to ensure the pellet is aligned when the bolt is pushed forward. I've read somewhere that a couple of people said it also impro...

Re: Strange S400 Chrony results left me baffled
I left the charging hose attached so as to read from the more accurate gauge and took readings every ten shots. The resultant curve was as close to linear as you could expect with the accuracy of interpolating the gauge's readings.

Re: Strange S400 Chrony results left me baffled
It sounds like you have this sorted now, but I was thinking that the other variable you could have measured with the shot string is the cylinder pressure. I was surprised (gratified) when testing my S400 that the pressure drop is almost linear, indicating a good balance of valve spring , hammer spri...

Re: s 400 clasic
Well yes, there's always some guesswork when first trying to decipher a code! My own S400 serial starts 06.... and was sold in Oct. 2007. I suspect that there is a lot of truth in the suggestion that the serial number is allotted when the parts are manufactured so there will always be a delay til th...

Re: s 400 clasic
I'd be interested in the reply re date of manufacture. It seems that the first two digits of the serial number are the year, but I'm not sure whether they use a month or week designation and where it occurs in the serial. Just one or two confirmed by the factory should unlock the code!

Re: Loose part in pressure vessel
Although your rifle is out of warranty, I'd be inclined to take it to the supplier and try to persuade him to cover it - try citing the new extended warranty, maybe? Unless you are comfortable working on the high pressure side of the gun it will be safer to get a gunsmith to sort it for you. The par...

Even more difficult for me to find... I haven't a clue what part of the world you're talking about!

Re: s400 trigger
I can't see any reason why a later OEM trigger shouldn't fit and work correctly. The pics I've seen of the early S400s have a more set-back trigger, much like the Rowan replacement! Also possibly of interest and significance is that I would expect your trigger unit to be of the two sear type. Later ...

Well - not all new...
First off, I'm a new member since a friend gave me his S400 Classic .177, 2007. So far I've only managed a couple of hours plinking in a friend's garden 15 yds max as the club in Basingstoke has closed its membership at least until September. The gun came with a Bushnell scope , which I found imposs...
