Re: Zero
Mainly HFT so a 6x42 on medium mounts, single zero at 27 yards so if it isn't on the cross hair it's always holdover, none of this near and far zero, holdover/hold under kerfuffle. Works well for me in the field as well. I shouldn't do as it's everyone to his own but I get really racked off watchin...

Blimey! We must live in alternative universes....
My breach seals pop out all over the place (on both my AA guns) and getting them back in is a nightmare.....

Re: Energy and pellet weight
Thanks for that Bezzer, and yes, it was the STB post I was mainly referring to. I understand that the post was referring to a regged gun, but surely the basic principle applies to any PCP: if the valve stays open longer than the lighter pellet stays in the barrel, the heavier pellet is going to 'ben...

Energy and pellet weight
I have just come across the idea on another forum that, if your gun gives a big difference between the muzzle energy of lighter pellets and heavier ones, the firing valve is probably staying open too long. So, not only is air being wasted when using the lighter pellet, lowering the shot count, but i...

Re: How to keep legal s200
It's always a good idea to set your power using the most efficient pellets you can find. It varies from gun to gun, but I'd be surprised if JSB Exact Heavy don't give the highest power in an S200 but you can test that (and any other pellet that takes your fancy) yourself. Personally, I set my PCP's ...

Re: What is an air stripper
IMHO a device to extract a little more hard earned cash from you. I'm not quite that cynical , but I've tried several air strippers (although not the legendary UKNeil variety) on 6 different guns, including an S200. I'm not the best shot in the world, and I only tested up to 45 yards, but my conclu...

Re: S400 DIY Hamster advice needed
You can certainly use a long M6 bolt - I think that's what Rowan do - but I couldn't find any practical way to stop the hamster rotating in normal use. In the end I drilled the stock. While I was trying to work out the right size of hamster, I strapped a roughly shaped piece of wood to the stock wit...

Re: S510 odd chrono results
Two thoughts. First, are you sure you filled to 190 bar or thereabouts? These results would be perfectly ok if they were just the second part of the power curve and the gun had only been filled to say 150 bar. Did your cylinder gauge and your gun gauge both agree on 190? Second, could this be a chro...

Re: HFT SCOPE
I've been really impressed by the Hawke Vantage 3-12 x 44 SF Half Mildot on my HFT 500. Compares very well with my Sightron S111 10 x 42 and a third of the price.
