Re: How to remove Altaros Regulator

Thanks Rog, I understand what you mean. but even with the fill valve off, there was no way I could see to get the entire end off. I don't know if it's a non-standard unit and judging by its appearance I suspect it is epoxied or bonded in, but there is absolutely nothing, internal or external that wo...

Re: How to remove Altaros Regulator

Just for the record, I couldn't get the filler off the cylinder. Someone has replaced the standard one with a nipple-type connector that had no depressions at all to attach a standard tool or circlip pliers. The hole behind the filling nipple itself is only about 3mm, so no chance of adjusting anyth...

I got the stripper and barrel band off eBay for £30 - pure luck, but worth looking out for. Makes for a really well balanced gun and the cylinder protects the flimsy barrel from accidental knocks. No effective way of fitting a moderator though.

Re: HFT 500 strip down and setting the firing pot

Thanks for your help, guys. I have now tried the pot at 56.0, 56.5, 57, 57.5 and 58.0 mm looking for the the flattest power curve with the lowest SD. Since I mainly use the gun for HFT (now there's a surprise ) I'm not too worried about shot count. The rather boring result is that 57 mm does indeed ...

How to remove Altaros Regulator

I'm about to fit an Altaros regulator in my S400. From what I've read on here I'm guessing that I'll need to do some fine adjusting of the regulator and might need to get it out of the cylinder several times. What is the best way to do this ?

Roughly how long does the broom handle need to be? Sorry if it's a daft question, but I've never come across this idea before.

Thanks, mate. Unfortunately I live in Perth (the Scottish one). Just noticed that I didn't show my location.

Re: HFT 500 strip down and setting the firing pot

Thanks guys. After the degunk, I think I'm getting around 80 shots in a 15 fps band. However, I'm far from sure as I've had problems with three different chronos today! That's why I haven't bothered to post the graphs themselves as I'm still not sure what's the gun and what's the chrono. However, tr...

HFT 500 strip down and setting the firing pot

Even though I have now solved the air blast problem http://www.airarmsownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=3257 my HFT 500 has not been running as consistently as I think it should with as much as 20 fps variation between shots! So I decided to give it a thorough service even though the gun is virtually n...
