I expect it is the cold weather, as the cold effects all mammal's including us. Hopefully they will be out soon. You are lucky to have a permission. Jeff, I don't think its a silencer. Looks more like the continuation of the barrel. I think they have pushed he front site down the barrel, rather than leave it at the tip of the barrel
