Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.
Who knows if it helped their vote, but given that they lost 21 of their 57 seats in the last general election and have lost proportionately more in local elections it doesn't seem very likely.

Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.
It depends what you mean by 'works'. There are still long backlogs of people who applied after 31 October 2016 but before 1 January 2017 and no one seems able to be explain why some new applicants get their licences (or not) so much quicker than others. The average seems to be about 4 to 6 months. A...

Re: HFT 500 power drop-offs
Thanks Roger. I think the only thing I can do is a back to basics strip down, clean out and rebuild. Because I've checked just about everything else I'll have a particularly close look at the transfer port and make sure it's completely clean and clear. Unless one of the seals is duff and I've not sp...

HFT 500 power drop-offs
Hi Folks, I hope someone can help here. In every hundred shot string from my HFT 500 - ie every fill - three or four pellets drop out of the group by around 2 inches at 30 yards. Checking on the chrono, these correspond with drop-offs of about 40-50 fps in MV, and I presume the rest of it is somethi...

Re: Not maintaining zero
That's exactly how you do test it, unless you have access to a laser jig. But in reality, very few barrels, AA or not, are truly straight, and there is no way of knowing whether yours was straight in the first place. When I took my S400 apart for a totally different reason, I found that it had a 3mm...

Re: Not maintaining zero
12 clicks is a hell of a lot to be down to environmental factors and by my calculations, it would need an MV increase of around 200 fps to account for it, so you can safely rule that out as the sole problem. Personally I'd have a good look at the scope and the scope mounts, in particular, what happe...

Re: Ballistic coefficient of AA Express pellets
I don't know how accurate you need the figures to be, but if you want to calculate the true BC for your gun and can't get hold of two chronos, you can get a useful approximation by measuring your POI at a longer distance - say 60 yards, and using ChairGun. I don't know about AA Express, but I have t...

Re: Bigger breech seal O-ring
interesting findings TY for sharing dunno what size these are, but these are what I use now in all my S510's and Ultimate Sporters http://spares.bagnallandkirkwood.co.uk/product/two-air-arms-upgraded-breech-o-ring-seals/ Just looking at them, I think they are the standard, metric size. The other di...

Bigger breech seal O-ring
In the comparatively short time I have had my .177 S400 Classic I have had quite few problems with the breech seal coming out or not sealing properly. As an experiment, I have fitted a BS 008 0-ring which is a bit bigger and fatter at 4.47 x 1.78 mm than the normal 4.5 x 1.5 mm. It fitted easily eno...

Re: Help please
Also check to see if the barrel is bent or being held out of true by the barrel band. I had this problem, and it was the barrel. Fortunately it's as easy to bend back to true, as it is to bend it out
