Re: Caring for walnut stock

Thanks guys. I guess any oil is likely to have a darkening effect. My concerns come from finishing furniture where previously applied sealers can have nasty effects on the take up of oil. I might try contacting AA to see if they can tell me what is used (presuming the stocks come from Minelli fully ...

Caring for walnut stock

Until a few days ago I hadn't owned an AA walnut stock and I don't know what finish is applied by AA. Just picked up an as-new TX200HC. The stock is in original matt finish which I want to preserve. I'm not wanting a substantially darker or more glossy appearance. So, rather than apply a branded sto...

Sycophant is a mighty big word for someone that doesn't even realize he's being wound up.

You do realize the name of this forum?
Yes (dumb question). I was and still am an AA fan, but I'm not a sycophant and believe in criticism - good and bad - where it's due.

Re: TX200HC vs HW97K

Are you sure it's Air Arms loss and not your loss? Well I got a decent gun and Air Arms lost a sale, which hardly makes them a winner! Would you buy a car without a test drive? Coincidentally, I took the 97kt out yesterday, the first time in 3 weeks. After checking zero at 30yds, I put...

Re: Tx200 shooting to the left

It seems likely the barrel and rail are out of alignment, but one last question: you have ruled out this isn't an issue with scope being set out of vertical or cant when you are shooting? I have a tendency to hold my rifle out of vertical - most butts sit better on my shoulder with a slight tilt whi...

Re: Tx200 shooting to the left

Yes, a problem I've had before. Could be the gun, the scope or the mount. I'm assuming the groupings are good and nothing obviously mechanically wrong with the rifle. If so, first I suggest you check the scope for alignment of optical and adjustment centres. Please excuse me if you know/have done th...

Re: Single shot

It may not be relevant, but the Rowan magazine includes a shim that is meant to be glued into the loading channel so that it is level with the bottom of the breech. This is to ensure the pellet is aligned when the bolt is pushed forward. I've read somewhere that a couple of people said it also impr...
