Re: Tx vs Prosport

Thanks for the reply - really interesting. The only thing I'd add is I'm not sure it has been doen to death as I never asked 'what was best' as such questions are silly, I was asking those that had owned both, for differences - but thanks for your input its really useful. You're basically saying the...

Re: Newbie

I'd suggest you get your power output and consistency checked before hunting anything alive and work out your sweetspot (typically 170-110 bar on an S410k). Then find the right pellet for it (ones that group the best at hunting distances). Then you're good to go. Put some practice in with it as well...

Re: Tx vs Prosport

I have the TX and tried fellow members' Pro Sports and also spent ages working the cocking of both at the gunsmiths. For me - and call me a weeney, I found the ProSport tiring to cock and the angular shape of the cocking lever uncomfortable. Cracking rifle though and would have been the choice if t...

Re: Tx vs Prosport

pro sport advantage is simple, looks. disadvantage, mechanical, the cocking linkage is via a very small cap screw into the comp tube. personal preference, thats all. Thanks Gary Interesting to know and thanks. Is there a major difference in the balance of the guns? My T-rex Hc feels really well bal...

Tx vs Prosport

My springer is a Tx200Hc (MK III), walnut stock and in .22. I love this gun. It needs a service now but its been faultless since I bought it new nearly 12 years ago. I love it. I've never owned a Prosport - but love the look of them and I'm tempted. I'd like to ask those of you that have owned both,...

Re: Air Arms S510 Carbine .22 pellet question

My S410 likes AAs and JSBs. No real difference with 5.51 vs 5.52. On another forum a friend of mine has done some extensive PCP testing and pellet weight. It was a complicated thread, but, AAS410s (and I assume this would be true for S510s) prefer and are more efficient with pellets of around 16g. F...

Re: TX200 mk3 use

Speaking generally and based on what I've read on other forums and chats with fellow shooters, it seems that the Tx will shoot straight from the box - really well. The HWs these days seem to need stripping down, little bit of fettling and lube - and then they are excellent. I personally prefer AA as...

Re: Calculator with a difference

Very interesting Bud Do we know how does it know the density of the skull / brain matter? Or is this based on ballistic jelly? I note there is no measure for lateral wound channel which in many cases can be more important than depth. No measure of potential energy transmission in terms of shock as w...

Re: Rabbit meat-good or bad?

My understanding is, as has already been said, rabbit is the best form of pure protein of any meat. Almost no fat. However, if you eat this for breakfast, dinner, and supper, every day for a year or so, then yes there will be problems. However, this is true for most cereals (sugar), fruit, and other...
