Re: S410 firing pot.

I agree, AA have set up a fine balance so that a tweak of the adjuster screw is all that is needed to make the fine (legal) adjustment and meet their specs. As you said in an earlier post, only a devoted tinkerer will be willing to put in a lot of time and effort to make improvements over the perfor...

Re: Transfer Port Screw Adjustment

I wonder if the adjustment screw has a greater affect on the 10m variants? I was under the impression that on a 12fpe model the screw had a fairly minimal affect, though possibly enough to get you into trouble... Certainly the FAC models use a heavier striker and more powerful striker spring to get ...

Re: Stainless screws

I'd have said average quality rather than poor quality. Certainly sufficient to the task as viewed from AA's perspective - after all with AT fitted they don't mean you to touch any of them anyway! I can't see any problems arising from dissimilar metals should you choose to use stainless, assuming yo...

Re: S410 firing pot.

Just a few more thoughts on the subject. The extended length of the non-standard firing valve will principally affect the stroke of the striker (hammer). This is principally used as an alternative to making a striker with an extended nose when balancing a (usually) lighter striker and reduced rate s...

S400 bolt

Just thought I'd post here as the other day someone at the range commented on just how slick the bolt is on my S400. When I got the rifle, the bolt was a bit graunchy, previous owner sensibly took the attitude if it ain't broke... Anyway, after a bit of fiddling which went as far as polishing the st...

Re: Bell Target Shooting

Yes, I think the S200 claims 120 shots from the low power target version. Our local club is about to try out some bell target as a new discipline, but few people have suitable rifles. I also wonder whether the S200 is the most suitable budget option. Can't help feeling that a cheap, break barrel typ...

Re: Shroud

I was reflecting on the question and remembered a Youtube video about silencers/moderators and their effects on performance. At the outset, the guy went into the various things people attach to the muzzle and these include air strippers and moderators. He gave an example of the Hugget range of mods ...

Re: Interchangeable parts?

Thank you so much for the offer, although I don't have any immediate need. I guess I'm a bit of a daydreamer and often think "I wonder whether that would fit...?" Quite often any differences are not obvious from the scant detail of an item description, but if it were shown as mating with a common pa...

Re: Interchangeable parts?

I guess that's a no, then? I'm pretty sure that all the parts are available from BGAL, but the manuals on the website are all for current production models - quite understandably so. My own gun is a S400 pre-AT, so I am relying on the parts list in my own User Manual. In fact, there are minor discre...

Interchangeable parts?

I wonder if there is a resource which would allow me to identify whether parts from the 400/500 range are interchangeable? At present this is just an academic interest, but if AA or an RFD ever get hold of my rifle, they are likely to condemn the cylinder, purely due to its age - could a longer cyli...
