Re: S500 FAC Barrel Leak

I did read of users fitting “oversize” breech seals which for 4.5/.177 guns is (I’m pretty sure) size BS008 or 1/16 inch by 3/16 inch ID. Nitrile Hardness 70

Use a blunt end cleaning rod or similar up the barrel, level with the seal, to help fit them

Or have your cheek lowered? Save money on future rifles.

Re: Dialing for elevation.

https://youtu.be/qWFTdT_G6Sg Maybe I should try FT then as I doubt many could do this either in those conditions. It's an old video but I've had 9 years more practice since then ;) Nice group but you missed the target by a beak’s length, That is too big a group for a sure humane kill, even prorated...

Re: Dialing for elevation.

Not many FT champs could hit 100% of 25mm kill zones at 80 yards whereas most competent hunters could do it 100% at 30 yards. Which means a good proportion of 80 yard shots would be misses or woundings. If you always walk the 80 yards to check then that’s fine. Even though I don’t shoot vermin I hav...

Re: Dialing for elevation.

Or with a wind change you could sneck off its beak and it would die slowly.

Re: Dialing for elevation.

I wouldn't recommend trying to kill anything humanely at 80 yards with an air rifle anyway.

Re: S410 Gauge Stuck.

@David_400 get the AA gauge and O ring from our sponsor Julian and the warranty will not be affected, though if it’s still under warranty why not have it done at the dealer. If you do it yourself dry fire the rifle 100 or so times to remove a chunk of the air then undo the gauge very slowly with a 2...

Re: S410 Gauge Stuck.

Inaccurate is one thing, stuck is something else. My new s400 came with one stuck at 150. Always seems to be 150!
I think theres just one manufacturer in China that makes that hexagonal gauge. Some are AA some are plain.
Any other needs to have the correct profile for the O ring fitting too.

A HMR travels at 2150 + FPS with a 17 grain bullet.
A 223 will travel 3000 FPS with a 40 grain bullet.
Just in case you was board
Centre fire twist rates vary from 1in 8 to 1 in 12

Re: Twist Rate

You needed feet per minute. Everyone gets it wrong. Length of pellet is only a factor in that a longer pellet is heavier therefore slower at 12ftlb I don’t have the gyro formula for mass and angular velocity but I wouldn’t mind betting the faster spin has more stability. Discuss. (Can’t you sleep ei...
