I've planned to go to the last 3! But every time something else has come up/prevented me going. Maybe next year I'll have more luck

Re: TX200 Short Stroking

Nice write up. I actually have 5 MarkI pistons as well as 3 MarkII FAC pistons. The latter has 5mm less stroke(93mm total) than the 3 MarkIII pistons I also have. The two shortest options are in my 8 different TX's, at the moment. I don't have easy access to MarkII springs, being in the U.S., so I ...

TX200 Short Stroking

Finally finished my short stroke TX200 blog post. This has a walk through of a proper short stroke conversion (using latch rod instead of nose extension etc) Also very happy to say Julian (off of here and Bond Gun Accessories/airarmsspares.com) is kindly sponsoring my TX200 HFT gun, and helped me ou...

Re: TX latch rods

Quick update. The longer latch rod got assembled last night so the loctite should be cured this morning Also I got a parcel from our very own Julian Bond. Proper Mk2 spring and guides. So much better than the titan ones you have to cut down every single time I've taken lots of photos during the proc...

Re: TX latch rods

Make sure you have some way to center the rod while the Loctite cures. This is probably the most important thing to get right (apart from cutting it the right length) I'm planning to use my pillar drill. Latch rod will go into the chuck and tighten. Then the piston will be screwed up onto the latch...

Re: TX latch rods

Ahh. I see what you mean about the spring. I'm pretty sure that Knibbs got some in recently as there is a thread about this on Airgunforum. A latch rod will be a lot cheaper anyway. I don't know where they would get them from. Air Arms don't make them for anybody and haven't done for a while Either...

Re: TX latch rods

Applying heat and getting the nose centred aren't a problem J Knibbs have been listing these for years but Air Arms don't make them anymore. They never have them in stock Piston nose extension means you lose spring room. i.e 13mm nose extension means the spring has 13mm less space to fit into. That'...

The sidewinder has just gone on my prosport. This Sunday is the misfits hft Christmas shoot and I'm going to try and do most of it standing, so no issues with turrets on pegs!

TX latch rods

Anyone know who can do longer latch rods for the TX? Planning on getting mk2 spring and guides from Julian on here, and a longer latch rod to convert mk3 to mk2 I've tried short stroking with piston extensions but they didn't feel anywhere near as good to me. I think its because of the shorter stiff...
