Re: S400 cylinder disassembly

Warm the ends of the cylinder with a hair dryer, you want enough heat so its uncomfortable to touch.
Keep it warm for a few minutes and while its hot try to undo it again.

Re: Sticky bolt...

I have always used good quality gun oil on most moving parts in a rifle. Grease has a nasty habit of collecting dust and grit and then not letting it go. High load points I will used moli grease but in as small an amount as I can get away with, a sliding bolt isn't high load in its channel but the c...

Re: camouflage

My Mrs sprays the dog and cats with it to get rid of fleas, I thought it was twaddle but it works better that flea spray.
If I spray a little on our bone idle sons shoes he can't stand up on the wood flooring in the front room. Its like watching a monkey on ice skates

Re: camouflage

You are going to think im up the wall but try getting hold of some "Avon Skin So Soft". You can find it on Ebay or as I did initialy in your wifes make up cupboard. It removes anything from anything with out doing any damage, if it gets on your stock it just wipes off not touching oiled fi...

Making a new bolt handle for the S410

From the day I picked up the S410 I have been saying I would make a new bolt handle. Im not a great lover of Aluminum on rifles, I know the bulk of the action is aloy on the S410 but atleast its anoidised black. I also wanted a slightly longer bolt handle with a knob that was easier for me to grip. ...

Re: Gun stock oil.

I did, very enjoyable job to do. Takes a lot more thinking about than carving the stock.

Re: Gun stock oil.

The stock I finished carving and checkering a month or so back, all it had was boiled linseed and a polish with 000 wire wool. it takes a few months to build up the oiled finnish but its worth doing. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8650/16487754618_3be7762729.jpg 20150228_200028 by kgambrell2000 , on...

Re: s400 safety catch fell off?

I have to buck the trend and say I rather like the safety on the S410. Not keen on the general shape of the trigger blade but thats a minor problem. I took the safety out of my trigger when I did the rebuild just after buying the rifle and to me it looks a perfectly servicable unit. I can see why th...
