Re: Firing pot length

When I raised the possibility of your rifle being over the limit I was trying to be helpful, not to start an argument or pass judgement on what is lawful/unlawful or fair/unfair. We don't know the details of the case and it may be that the defendant was treated leniently for reasons not reported. Yo...

Re: Firing pot length

The law is slightly miss guided on what counts for "is the gun capable of going over 12ftlbs." I think every air gun i know can be tampered with someway or another, so whats to say that your gun is shooting no more than say 10.5 ftlbs with heavys, then the police stop you take your gun and test it ...

Re: Firing pot length

I haven't heard of this, and discussions on this and other airgun forums generally express a different view. This would be an important precedent as the wording in the legislation "capable" of exceeding 12 ft lb refers to the gun with no reference to pellet and no direct qualification as to what is ...

Re: FAC rated air rifle.

.22 FAC trajectory over 20-24ft lb (depending on pellet weight) will be flatter than .177 at 12 ft lb . Maximum hunting range for either is a matter of personal choice but I'd be looking for no more than 20 yards extra range at 30-36ft lb. If you want more, I think you'd be better with .22lr as othe...

Re: Firing pot length

11.60 ftlbs jsb exact diabolo 8.4gn, I would suggest you do a chrono check with JSB Heavy 10.34gr. I'd not be surprised to see over 12 ft lb as they usually give an extra 0.5ft lb relative to AA DF. If you used 8.40gr in your ME calculation your 10.6 will probably be lower than true ME. Contrary to...

Re: What is the Original Oil Used on TX200 Walnut Stocks?

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago. Still haven't got round to asking AA. I think a varnish (probably modern acrylic) is used rather than oil so was concerned about any penetrating oil getting under the varnish around the chequering. I've been using a clear natural wax furniture polish which...

Re: What pellets are everyone using

Different preferences for every gun and application. My AA and HW PCPs like JSBH some in 4.51mm some in 4.52 mainly for long range hunting or breezy conditions. Not for springers though - using JSB/AA 8.44 or 7.87gr.

Re: Range master sovereigns 10.3

Sovereigns are made by JSB.
Heavies: BC 0.030
Tests from my guns suggest the JSB heavies BC is a little lower than specified but in the 0.025 to 0.030 range depending on gun. I've not tested the Sovereigns.

Re: AA s400 button style trigger

See here https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332893763040 He made me one with a 4mm hole for my standard MPR trigger. He may be able to make you a special for the rowan. Looks as though the design would permit just drilling out to size if the BSA hole ...

Re: AA s400 button style trigger

Hi, and welcome.
Have you tried phoning Rowan Engineering? They are quite helpful so may be willing to supply one.

Just looked at their website and see they don't list this type. Are you sure it is a Rowan trigger?
Maybe bgaltd (Air Arms Spares) has a HFT500 shoe and will know if it fits.
