Re: S510, De-Cocking, Magazine, etc.

I have an empty baked bean tin a third full of plumbers mait in my gun cupboard. Lay it on its side on a shelf, stick the muzzle in the tin and fire the pellet. Wear safety glasses if you like (my specs are polycarb). Worst case the base of the tin gets a dent. Havent tried it with FAC rifle!. You ...

Thanks Roger! That's what I'll probably end up doing.

S510, De-Cocking, Magazine, etc.

Just trying to figure out the best practices for using my new AA S510... Would appreciate suggestions from those of you with this gun. It happens often that I take one or two shots and then need to put the gun away for a while (pest control out my back door). That doesn't seem to be a problem becaus...

AA Diabolo Field .22 Pellets Spec?

I'm probably too anal about this, but the Air Arms Diabolo Field pellets in .22 are identified on the tin and the AA website as being 16 grains. However, Chairgun (latest update with latest pellet database) says they're 15.9 grains. That leads me to also question the balistic coefficient of the pell...

Re: AA S510 Extra FAC S/L Ultimate Sport- Carbine or not??

Looking good, take it out of the stock and you will see locking screw, don't put to much pressure on it, and I think your bipod is the wrong way round ( unless you prefer it like that ) Rog Thanks Roger. About the bipod... it, and the gun, are both new and I was trying the bipod both ways and must ...

Re: AA S510 Extra FAC S/L Ultimate Sport- Carbine or not??

After an incredibly long and frustrating wait, I've FINALLY got it!!!! My new Air Arms S510 Xtra FAC Ultimate Sporter CARBINE in .22. It is without question the most beautiful gun I've ever owned, and maybe even more beautiful than any I've seen. The wood (GOOD WOOD!) is amazing and the finish is si...

Re: S510 odd chrono results

I can't comment on those figures (yet) as my own S510 Ultimate Sporter will only be arriving on Tuesday. (Been hoping it would arrive for this weekend, but alas.) Is your gun .177 or .22? Mine will be .22. I'm guessing that yours is the 12 ft lb version? Mine is the Xtra FAC, but if yours is also, a...

Re: S510 Trigger Adjustment?

Very good video! Thank you gdavison for the link. Peter, I have never found that Napier gun oil here in Canada and what I've always done with my triggers was to polish the sears and then use an ever so small amount of moly on the contact surfaces. How do you feel about that compared with the oil? I ...

Re: S510 Trigger Adjustment?

I just fire it without a pellet. If in my study I put an old towel on the muzzle so the wife doesnt moan. PCP wont be damaged by a little bit of empty firing. Taking the side off will show you where you are going and get you 90% there but you really need the hammer spring pressure for final feel. i...
