Re: S510 Ultimate Sporter XS Chronograph Chart

I have no experience of AA reg so will comment only from experience of two other regs (Altaros and Weihrauch) including results of extensive testing to establish multiple causes of power variation in the Weihrauch. This cycle is not unregulated. The variation over shots 1-11 is not normal but an inc...

Re: s 400 clasic

When I phoned to return my S400 under warranty the first thing AA did was to check date of manufacture. They gave me year and month, which was 5 months prior to my purchase.

Re: s 400 clasic

I can't make any chronological sense of my serial numbers. You say it seems first two digits are year but has AA told you this? I have confirmed with AA the month and year of manufacture of two rifles and both have first two digits out of synch with year by 1. So unless AA gave me wrong year twice :...

Re: AA diablo pellets

Can't help you with that batch. As you haven't yet had a response (apologies if this is stating the obvious) I thought you might be interested in my findings: the best place to start, if unable to get the same batch, is another batch from the same die. I have a bit of an obsession with testing diffe...

Re: Barrel twist rate

My understanding too... (= 1 in 450mm). Had heard also the figure 1:18 but I'm guessing that was just rounded to the nearest inch.

I'm sure AA would confirm if you phoned and asked for technical advice.

Re: TX200HC vs HW97K

Thanks for the advice. Ended up buying a 97k simply because I had the chance of used one at a good price and couldn't find a TX200HC locally to try, or one anywhere at a comparable price. Shoots well so I'm not disappointed with it, just that I couldn't try the HC. AA's loss given I was prepared to ...

Re: Scope will not zero

Could be a duff scope. Is it new new, did it come with rings attached and have they been over-tightened? This is what I'd do. Re-centre the reticle vertically and horizontally by counting the number of turns on the turrets. Once the adjusters are in the mechanical centre, loosen the scope rings and ...

Re: First Hunt in over 2 yrs

Not pleased to hear you go out hunting before fully checking and understanding the chracteristics of your gun. I'd certainly be checking trajectory and groupings at a various ranges - looking for 9 out of 10 shots in a 20mm group at max hunting range +5yds.

Re: US S510 getting Fliers

First thing I would do, if you haven't previously had good groups with the gun, is test a range of pellets with a chrono for velocity and accuracy. My AA PCPs (incl. .177 US) are not particularly pellet fussy and will perform well with several AA/JSB die numbers in 4.51 and 4.52mm. But they still gi...

Re: Adding a moderator to Tx200hc

Which moderator? Could be pellets skimming a baffle (the std AA moderator has one at mid-position). The sound dampening material in some moderators can deteriorate so you get threads protruding into the fight path. It would be helpful to know what you classify as a flyer - is this a few isolated maj...
