Hi, Sounds like the barrel has come out and left the brass end piece in the breech block. They are usually Loctite'd together and it's the brass bit that has to be aligned with the transfer port. Dont forget to put a new oring in whilst its apart. I really wouldnt worry about a high spot on the crown as there are more things that can alter the poi than this, Get it back together and you will soon see Yes I do have a spare one so will change old for new would be easier with brass collar out ...

If you have, or you know somebody with a granite work top, roll the barrel over it and see if it's bent, then simply mark it at its highest point. Fit it with the mark facing up. All barrels actually shoot upwards anyway to compensate for gravity. Thanks for this, starting to hope my barrel is bent...

Its unfortunate that over the years we have tinkered with so many different guns, and that our memory gets distorted .
