Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.

Hello Alan,

When I said "did it work", what I meant was, did it gather any votes? As many people seem to think this was the intention. Nothing to do with addressing air gun crime in Scotland, which we are led to believe was on the decrease anyway.

Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.

It would indeed be interesting to hear from someone in Scotland. Although I suspect, all that it has done, is inconvenience and cost the legitimate and law abiding shooter, and given the Scottish Police an additional burden they could well do without. As previously said, what chance is there of the ...

Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.

I've thought (like gdavison) for years that the RFD ought to be more pro-active in explaining the law and the Air Gun owners responsibilities. Even just handing the new Air Gun owner the Home Office leaflet (AIR WEAPONS: A brief guide to safety), or the BASC leaflet (AIR RIFLE SAFETY IN ENGLAND AND ...

Re: S400 DIY Hamster advice needed

Clearly it might not look very pretty, but for the second post, why not try some form of 'V' cradle under the stock to prevent rotation of the hamster?

For occasional use, it might just do the trick.

Re: Air Pistol recommendation

Well done Kwaka and best of luck for the competition. You may wonder why you can't hold the pistol as still as you want, well, neither can the experts, it's just that they can hold it stiller than you. Do let us know how you get on? I had a similar issue with my HW75. New set of seals, easy to fit, ...

And MPR Poplar Stocks have a 0.5mm thick acrylic finish that chips off if you whack it on a bench vice. Impossible to repair invisibly. Pings off when you remove the barrel band too. :(

OUCH! :(

Re: Care of Beech Stock

Am I correct in thinking that Beech stocks tend to be lacquered, and Walnut stocks oiled? I this is the case, oiling a lacquered Beech stock seems a bit of a waste of time, as the oil will just sit on the surface. Polish may be a better finish for a lacquered Beech stock.

Re: Air Pistol recommendation

Give the HW40 your best shot, (oops! no pun intended). There are HW40 copies out there, but my guess is, the real deal will be better in the end.

Let us know how you get on?

Re: Air Pistol recommendation

Don't spend a fortune to start with. Try some. Decide what's comfortable (and hopefully accurate). And remember, 10m Pistol isn't for everyone.

I don't think you'll go far wrong with a SSP for starters. However, if you get the bug, it can get expensive as TenMetrePeter has eluded to.
