I can see where your coming from with the TC, doesn't look to be a lot of meat on that stock, but once a stud is fitted, I would carry it butt up i.e. Bipod down, and you'd probably be ok, you could also use a threaded stud with a washer and nut, some of mine are like that hth

Loosen cheek piece, right side of stock, and if you remove the bolt, the sling fitting will drop out, can't remember, but think the sling fitting slides inside the tube for cheek adjuster, haven't done one of these in years, I also remember a chap taking a hacksaw to one, once it was removed
