To be clear, you dont get more shots by fitting a reg (in fact you'll certainly get less as the reg takes volume), you only get more useable shots.

Take a look at Altaros. They are looking good value and no drilling required. Do let us know how you get on if you tread this path.

Conversely if your rifle's sweet spot curve is this flat why bother?

I guess you have a gun which doesn't ping - in which case you can leave well alone. Some do make a pinging noise on and after firing and this noise can be irritating to some shooters. The ringing you can hear is said to be coming from the air reservoir and is due to the disturbances caused by firing...

Its really dead easy. This is what I have recently learnt and applied: The hammer and hammer rail are important to clean and polish regularly. You can cut and fit a shim from a drinks can. Worked fine on mine. I used a coke tin which is aluminium and not ideal but I'm told that Carling is a steel can.
