Re: Oh dear. Back to school!
Had the same heated discussion with an alledged ex army smallarms instructor who had obviously skipped a big paragraph in the tradjectory chapter. An ex squaddy backed him up saying ' yes , I've watched tracers go up before they come down.' They the would not accept the fact that a bullet drops when...

Toxic Crisps
Noon and hadn't eaten. Pulled over to a shop and got a packet of salt and vinegar crisps. First mouthful I gagged and luckily there was a layby near. I thought I'd been poisoned. Flushed out my mouth with water then went looking for a tobacanist to get some Capstain Full Strength to take the taste a...

You're early airgun days.
On my 12th birthday my parents bought me a BSA Meteor Supersport.. It was the best present in my life and I havn't been so enthralled by any present since , except the birth of my children. I have in the last couple of years had several tack driving air rifles but you can become very serious about p...

Re: Heavy rust on old airgun
Wastrel..... The Diana Mod 22 is a pre war air rifle with brass , yes brass rifling. It was designed as a starter rifle for kids ( 5 ft lb ) and the accuracy is Minute of Bean can which was all that was required. If you shot to win a goldfish at the fairground you have probalbly used one. It is what...

Re: Heavy rust on old airgun
I did up a Diana Mod 22 in .177. Which we still plink with. It shoots 25mm groups at 10M with quality pellets. But before I started the project I made sure the lockup was good the barrel was straight and the bore was in good condition. If you have any issues with any or all of the above , the outcom...

Re: Air-gun Licencing now for England.
Unfortunately there is a human sub species out there with using air weapons either bought with ill gotten gains or stolen who don't give damn about who or what they shoot. No amount of advice , education or legislation will alter their behaviour. But in the big picture , from folk looking from the o...
Woodys
Had a request for a brace of woodpigeon for the plate. Went to a likely location tonight and shot 2 woodys in 10 minutes but didn't pick the first. Was very smug about the shots which were both around 40 yards but there was a bit of a breeze which I guestamated about an inch of wind. Got it right an...

Re: Best Pellet " An old chestnut "
Get 5p groups at 50y with my S200 and 5.52 JSB Express. Definately worth a try. Tried JSB RS and dont think they suited the barrel . 50 pence groups at 50y. The difference in getting the right pellet can be amazing. As an example , my son has a Diana Model 22 177 (looks like an old fairground gun) w...
