If it is an early RN10 /PT with a shrouded barrel then change it for either acarbon or ali one. The original barrel shrouds were, IIRC, steel and made the guns quite front heavy. Plus the forerunner to the Pro-Target was the RN-10 (RN for Rob Nicholls and 10 as the gun was originally a 10M rifle made by RWS ? and the original designation was CA100). As above. If it is totally empty then cock the action to take the hammer of the valve. As with no air in the reg the hammer will hold the valve open purely under the tension of the hammer spring , thus dumping the air straight through the system.
