Re: Second Air Arms rifle

There are a number of folk who sell sets of seals for the S400 on ebay. That will give you all the seals quite cheaply. As the MPR FT was discontinued some years ago it may have an early version of the firing valve and these are far less prone to failure than the newer ones and that is often thought...

Re: Cometa Orion Mini advice

Now please don't take exception. You asked about another brand on the Air Arms forum. Perhaps no-one who has seen your question has any experience of the Cometa Orion, so no-one has replied.

Re: Reborn AIRARMS owner

Listening to others talking about barrel cleaning and leading at our club, plus many, many comments on various forums it seems that generally the hammer forged Weihrauch barrels respond to regular cleaning but then need to be re-leaded. The LW barrels used on most AA guns I presume to be broached, g...

Re: air cylinder/rile gauge

Absolutely right - fill to the correct pressure as indicated on the bottle gauge. If you have any doubts, read what the manual has to say about the dial on the gun! AA make a point that it is not accurate and is intended only as an indicator of the state of charge of the rifle. They are known to be ...

Re: stirrup pump

Hills is pretty much the "industry standard", but things have certainly changed since my Hills MkIII - which I find perfectly adequate on an S400. I believe the latest offerings are more tailored to achieving pressures above the 200 bar required for guns like ours. Current models are 3 or 4 stage pu...

Re: new air arms .177 s410F carbine

I found that a few cycles of cleaning the bolt exposed at the rear when cocked and very lightly greasing with Napier VP90 grease made the cocking action much smoother. The first two times I did it each made a noticeable difference.

Re: s410 loading bolt removal

Yes, keep it hot whilst you pull the handle off. I'd advise you to drop the stock off before doing the job - the small charred/darkened spot on my stock demonstrates that I overlooked this precaution... The Loctite used on factory assembly softens with heat, but rehardens as it cools , so unless you...

Re: s410 subtle visual mods

I've done very little to mine. I added a Bl4de moderator (being a .177 it did crack somewhat), a Rowan setback trigger to help my small hands and a Rowan black bolt handle, because I found the satin finish aluminium original looked almost plastic! The S400 has such classic looks that I don't feel it...

Re: Leaking fill valve

When I got my S400 (2nd hand) it had not been used for some time. The bolt was surprisingly hard to pull and needed quite a tug to get it actually cock onto the sear. In desperation, I cleaned the bolt by running it in and out wrapped in kitchen towel to remove anything that was on it. I then grease...

Re: QTec silencer - S510 carbine

As I understand it, the S510 shroud extends around 4 inches beyond the muzzle, so screwing a mod to the end of the shroud still leaves an expansion chamber beyond the muzzle to allow flow back through the shroud. Because the mod is screwed the shroud it has to have a male thread.
