I send a note to both AA and Air Venturi on Monday through their contact page and asked them about this brown deposit. I'm still waiting for a reply... After sending the note, I noticed a similar deposit inside the cylinder (first pic). It was a sticky substance. I was able to remove it with a cloth...

Send it back to AirArms as they buy the barrels in. Normally there is a coating which would have hidden any problems. They will be more than happy you have flagged this up. It's not really fair to comment further until AA has seen it. Why don't folk take it up with the manufacturers before storing ...

They shipped me a new one. They were out of stock so It took a little longer. The barrel on this new rifle looks similar to the previous one. It doesn't have that spot that looked like pitting on the previous one though. I guess this is how they're supposed to be. Here's a pic. Before taking the pic...

When I got the rifle, the first thing I did was to clean the barrel by firing a few cleaning pellets (3 at a time and the first cleaning pellet was sprayed with Ballistol). A couple of weeks later, and after 1000 pellets, I started cleaning the rifle with a pull through, patches, Ballistol, nylon br...

Guys, I'm the shooter from the other forum. A few weeks ago I purchased this rifle new from a big shop. I love the gun and it shoots very well. But a few day ago I noticed some brown stuff inside the barrel. I took this picture after rubbing the barrel with a brass brush/solvent and running a q-tip....
