Send it back to AirArms as they buy the barrels in. Normally there is a coating which would have hidden any problems. They will be more than happy you have flagged this up. It's not really fair to comment further until AA has seen it. Why don't folk take it up with the manufacturers before storing ...

They shipped me a new one. They were out of stock so It took a little longer. The barrel on this new rifle looks similar to the previous one.
